Home Inspection for Renters

What is a Move In / Move Out Apartment Inspection?

Before you move in, you should engage a trusted advisor in a full move in apartment inspection. The last thing you want is to move in and then find something wrong, unsafe or in need of correcting, as your landlord holds your security deposit.

Completing a move in apartment inspection ensures everything is fixed and to your liking, and it will also prevent your landlord from withholding any of your security deposit later on.

In the best case scenario, you’ll complete a move in apartment inspection during the short window after you agree to rent the apartment and before you sign the lease. Then when you are ready to move on to your new home, having a move out apartment inspection will ensure you leave with most of your security deposit.

The Move In / Move Out Apartment Inspection process is very similar to our typical home inspection, but is completed with an apartment specific items and includes a checklist with photos. With our Move In / Move Out Apartment Inspection, you still receive the same attention as you normally would by one of our trusted Home Inspectors.
